Because They're Family Too: Pet Photography in Singapore

This image shows a couple taking their pre-wedding photos while embracing two cute dogs in Singapore. The backdrop features the golden glow of the setting sun.

The happiest little faces at the door after a long day, they are the ones keep us company through life's ups and downs, and naturally become part of our most treasured memories.

For many of us, our pets aren't just animals, they're family.

They are there for the quiet moments, the celebrations, and all the little chapters in between. So when it comes to documenting life's milestones, whether it's a pre-wedding photoshoot, family portrait session, or simply a season worth remembering, it only feels natural to have them by our side.

Over the years, we've had the privilege of photographing countless couples and families alongside their beloved furkids. While every photoshoot is different, one thing remains the same: the love between people and their pets is always worth remembering.

Every Pet Has Their Own Story

One of the things we love most about pet photography is that no two sessions are ever the same. How could they be? Every pet has their unique quirks and personalities that leads to unforgettable photos!

Some dogs arrive full of energy, eager to explore every corner of the location before we've even unpacked our cameras. Others are content to stay close to their owners, quietly soaking in the moment. Some steal the spotlight entirely, while others create the sweetest memories through the smallest gestures.

That's exactly what makes these sessions so special.

We've photographed adventurous beach walks, playful afternoons in open fields, quiet cuddles during sunset, and countless moments where a pet unexpectedly became the star of the entire shoot.

And honestly? We wouldn't have it any other way.

The beauty of including pets in a photoshoot isn't about getting them to sit perfectly still or perform on command. It's about capturing their personalities exactly as they are. The curious glances, the unrestrained zoomies, the gentle head tilts and the comforting presence they bring to the people who love them.

Those are the moments that we live for.

Why We Love Including Pets in Photoshoots

They're Present During Life's Biggest Moments

For many couples, pets are part of their everyday lives long before wedding planning begins.

They've been there for weekend adventures, lazy mornings at home, and countless milestones throughout the relationship. Including them in a pre-wedding photoshoot or family session simply feels right because they're already part of the story.

They Bring Out Genuine Emotion

The moment a dog runs towards their owner or rests their head on a lap, any nervousness tends to disappear. The smiles become more natural, the laughter becomes more genuine, and the photographs reflect that authenticity. There's something about pets that just helps people relax.

Some of our favourite images aren't carefully posed at all. They're the in-between moments shared between people and the animals they love.

Years Later, These Images Often Mean The Most

Perhaps the most meaningful reason of all is that our time with our pets is never long enough.

Photographs become more valuable with every passing year. They allow us to revisit moments we may have otherwise forgotten and preserve memories of companions who have shared important chapters of our lives.

It's often these photographs that become some of the most cherished images in a family's collection. We're sure you've heard of the saying that goes: "Your pet may only be a part of your life, but to them, you are their whole life.". As pawrents, photos give us another way to keep loving our pets even after they have to leave to wait for us across the rainbow.

Planning a Photoshoot With Your Pet

While pet photoshoots are often wonderfully spontaneous, a little preparation can go a long way.

Choose a Pet-Friendly Location

The best location is usually one where your pet feels comfortable.

This could be a favourite park, a quiet beach, an open field, or even your own home. Familiar environments often help pets feel more relaxed, which naturally leads to better photographs.

Bring Plenty of Treats

Treats are one of the simplest ways to keep your pet engaged throughout the session. Not to mention occasionally giving them the much needed jolt of motivation!

Not only do they help maintain attention, but they also make the experience more enjoyable for everyone involved.

Allow Extra Time

Unlike human subjects, pets don't follow a schedule. They may need breaks, time to explore, or simply a few moments to settle into a new environment.

Building flexibility into the session allows us to work at their pace and capture natural moments without unnecessary pressure.

Trust The Unexpected Moments

Some of the best photographs happen when things don't go according to plan. A sudden burst of excitement, a curious glance towards the camera, or an unexpected cuddle often creates images that feel far more authentic than anything we could have posed.

Rather than aiming for perfection, we encourage our couples and families to embrace the spontaneity that pets bring to every session.

The Pawsible Project: Photography With A Purpose

Spending so much time photographing beloved pets has reminded us of just how much joy, companionship and unconditional love animals bring into our lives. It also inspired us to ask a simple question: How can photography make a difference beyond creating beautiful memories?

That question eventually led to The Pawsible Project.

The Pawsible Project is Bridelope's community initiative dedicated to using photography as a force for good. Through this project, we hope to raise awareness, support meaningful causes, and celebrate the incredible bond between people and animals.

At its heart, The Pawsible Project is about giving back to the community while highlighting the lives of animals who deserve love, care and a chance to thrive.

It's an initiative that reflects something we deeply believe in: every animal has a story worth telling.

If you'd like to learn more about the project and how you can support it, we invite you to explore The Pawsible Project and follow along as it continues to grow.

Types of Pet Photoshoots We Love

One of the most common questions we receive is whether pets can be included in different types of photography sessions. The answer is almost always yes.

Some of our favourite sessions include (but not limited to):

  • Pre-wedding photoshoots with pets

  • Wedding photography featuring beloved furkids

  • Family photoshoots with dogs and cats

  • Maternity sessions with pets

  • Lifestyle pet photography

  • Outdoor pet photography in Singapore

No matter the occasion, we believe the people and animals who matter most deserve to be remembered together.

Because They're Family Too

At the end of the day, photographs aren't just about documenting what happened. They're about preserving the people, relationships and moments that shape our lives.

For many of us, pets are woven into those memories in ways both big and small. They comfort us through difficult days, celebrate life's happiest moments, and somehow leave paw prints on our hearts that never quite fade.

Whether they're joining you for a pre-wedding session, celebrating a new chapter with your growing family, or simply being their wonderfully chaotic selves, they deserve a place in the photographs that tell your story.

Because they're family too. And family will always reserve a spot in frame❤️

Just for fun, we've put together a compilation of some of the pets we've spent time with, check it out!
